BESIII software installation </head> <body> <h3>BESIII software installation (release 6.3.1)</h3> <p>To install <a href="http://bes3.ihep.ac.cn">BES-III</a> software one needs <ul> <li>PC with SLC4 installed <li>7-8 Gb of disk space <li>Recent version of <a href="http://physics.bu.edu/pacman/">Pacman</a> <li>About 2-3 hours of time </ul> <h3>Installation steps</h3> <tt>tar xzvf pacman-latest.tar.gz<br> cd pacman-3.*<br> source setup.sh<br> mkdir /top/level/directory<br> cd /top/level/directory<br> pacman -get http://bes3.jinr.ru/cache:6.3.1</tt><br> OR<br> <tt>pacman -get http://bes3.ihep.ac.cn/group/offline/installation/cache/:6.3.1</tt> <p>It will take some time. Then one can do <p><tt> source setup.sh<br> source scripts/setup.sh<br> cd dist/6.3.1/TestRelease/*/cmt<br> source setup.sh<br> cd ../run<br> boss.exe jobOptions_sim.txt</tt> (for example) <p><b>Note,</b> that at the moment still a few paths to calibration data may be hardcoded in the jobOptions and point to /afs/ihep.ac.cn/....
